Anyone's thoughts?
Technically you can not tax a service or an action though the income tax is essentially a tax of labor, labor being a service.
The sixteenth amendment provides for a new taxation despite the supreme court (i think it was the SC) stating that no new taxes were instated. The key to this was apportioned taxes, which due to having different tax brackets makes this against itself. Also that the funds are not immediately repaid to people disqualifies this. So why are we paying taxes?
I know on FYZ this started a large "well i dont pay taxes...." feud.
Let's avoid that.
Rather lets see if we can actually come up with valid points on this..
let's go to work guys and gals

Well, here's the first thing I got when I googled, www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7151524/, which explains a bit of the process and history of income tax. I'm definitely no tax expert, and in an ideal world, taxes wouldn't exist at all, only "donations", but that's not the discussion...

There was a documentary someone posted a link to on FYZ...something like Ten Steps to Fascism, or something. I'm pretty sure that's the one that dealt with income taxes...anyone have the link?

Options: 1. Law is nonexistent. There is no law. 2. Law is subjective. Whatever someone believes or says to be the law, is the law. 3. Law is objective. It's not something anybody can change. If 1 is true, then no, income tax is not legal, nothing is. If 2 is true, then no, income tax is not legal, because then I can simply believe or say that the law is something else, and taxing me is illegal. If 3 is true, then no, income tax is not legal, income tax is theft. Income taxes aren't legal. Whether or not the government buys this argument is another story. As for an argument they will buy: www.mind-trek.com/practicl/tl16b.htm
